CSHSRA and CJHRA Members,

During our 7/27 meeting the board took action based on feedback from club leaders we received during our club leader meeting at State Finals.  There was discussion about how our kids don't get to compete in an average rodeo until State Finals, and how that is something that they wanted changed.  We decided to incorporate an average rodeo into a Fall rodeo and a Spring rodeo.  Latigo was decided to be the Fall rodeo and the Spring rodeo will be decided at our Winter Board meeting.  This was a topic we meant to discuss at the meeting in Eagle, but it was left off the agenda by accident.  I apologize for that.
There will be no additional entry fees and there will be no payout for the average at Latigo, just points.  We will have points like we do typically for Latigo rodeo #1 and Latigo rodeo #2.  In addition, we will have a Latigo #3 that will be points based on the average.  There will not be additional loops thrown/carried in the roping events like we incorporate according to the ground rules at State Finals.  Also, the draw order will be random on both days.  Because of our current computer system, the average points will not be posted until the following week.
Let me know if you have any questions that I may not have answered and I will update in the comments below this post on the FB page.  If you are reading this on the website, please email your questions to Sherri.

Dear Colorado State High School Rodeo Association Members & Family,

Tonight the board had a meeting to discuss which barrier system we are going to use. The board came to a consensus that we will use the rope neck rope for one rodeo at Latigo and the electric neck rope at the other rodeo at Latigo. The judges will flip a coin on Friday afternoon to determine which barrier will be used on Saturday, and we will use the other on Sunday. We want to hear your feedback, so we have committed to putting on an educational session with both barriers following the rodeo on Saturday. Please join us on Saturday to see how the barriers work and to give us your feedback.

Sincerely,
The CSHSRA Adult and Youth Board of Directors
